She was crowned Miss Universe Botswana in 2001 and was a contestant in the 50th Miss Universe Anniversary Pageant held in Puerto Rico. As a former model and radio personality, Mataila enjoyed a stint of sharing the runway with icons like Naomi Campbell and Elle McPherson. A profound encounter with God in 2003 transformed her life, shifting her focus from external beauty pursuits to pursuing the internal beauty of Christ. This pivotal moment led her to seek a life of purpose and truth, grounded in her faith.
Mataila holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a Marketing Major and a Diploma in Ministry. She was raised, trained, and ordained for ministry under the leadership of Bishop Deric and the late Pastor Belinda Linley of Light of the Nations International Ministries in South Africa, where she served as an Associate Pastor from 2004-2011.
With a passion for entrepreneurship, for many years, Mataila and her team have been making the home ownership dreams of countless families in the USA a reality through her mortgage brokerage business. She has recently pivoted her focus to that of following her higher calling, which is to equip the saints for the work of the ministry.
